Today I met the sci-fi author Ian C. Esselmont! He paid with a credit card and I thought I recognized his name..so I was like "you're an author right?" and he was like, "yep, I write sci-fi books! I'd sign one for you if you had any of them." Whoa! I Googled him after he left and it said he's married to Gerri Brightwell, who is also an author (which I knew) that shops at the bookstore all the time. Double whoa! I did see Gerri, but the store was too busy to focus on just one person lol. I totally didn't know she was married to another author, whose books I've definitely shelved in the bookstore. Wow! That was really cool lol. You never know who you'll meet at the little bookstore in Fairbanks, Alaska :D
How cool is this: Gulkana Glacier in Interior Alaska is a testing ground for equipment intended for use in space. Wow!! That is super cool! (I've hiked on Gulkana Glacier before, so it's even more special to me lol)
I really wish I knew why Photobucket pictures aren't working for me on LJ (they work on other sites!). It's upsetting to me, since I have hundreds (thousands??) of pictures on here, and replacing them would take forever. I emailed LJ and Photobucket, in the hope something can be fixed. Guess I'll have to use Flickr for now..

Today's trivia: The first webcam watched a coffee pot. It allowed researchers at Cambridge to monitor the coffee situation without leaving their desks
