Blueberry picking on the tundra
Jul. 29th, 2012 11:28 amYesterday dad, Ryan and I went into the valley to pick blueberries (I couldn't convince dad to go to Murphy Dome :P). It was my first time walking out there..that tundra stuff is REALLY hard to walk on. There are these grass tuft things that you have to balance on or you'll fall into the swamp (though I was wearing boots so it wouldn't have been THAT bad). People already got the ones closest to the road so we had to go rather far out. It was also REALLY hot..it felt like 100 degrees in Texas! (It was 83 I think) Dad apparently found a huge patch of them but Ryan and I went back to the car cause we were way too hot and I was tired of balancing on grass tufts haha. I managed to fall and lose my berries..nice. We tried putting the air conditioning on but it wasn't working! I thought I was gonna die of heatstroke. We eventually got dad to come back by honking the horn and yelling at him haha..so tired of being hot! Don't think I'll be going out there again..Murphy Dome isn't the easiest to walk on but way easier than that! (Plus it has awesome views ;)) The berries tasted pretty good though..
Pumpkin was so happy to go with us up the hill yesterday she was drooling..she is so weird haha
