glacier_kitty1. What is your favorite shape for ice in a beverage? Uh..cubed?? I don't really pay much attention when drinking lol
2. When did you last apply ice (or something functioning similarly) to your body? Not sure..it's been awhile
3. What was the occasion for your most recently toting something with ice in a cooler? Probably a road trip or picnic
4. What is the iciest movie you’ve seen? 2012: Ice Age, The Day After Tomorrow, Happy Feet, The Grey, etc
5. What are some good songs with “ice” in the title or lyrics? "Immigrant Song" ("we come from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun where the hot springs flow!"), "Under the Ice"-Blind Guardian, "The Haunting (Somewhere In Time)"-Kamelot, "The Tip of the Iceberg"-Owl City, etc
Yesterday was work's annual Biz Bee fundraiser..it always amazes me how they go from words like "charitable" to "fatshedera" (there were a lot of plant words this year!). I thought "aegilops" was especially evil, because unless you're familiar with Greek, you'd never get it right. We did get first place though, yay! (Denise is super smart haha.) The winning words were "hudibrastic" and "Tagalog" (I didn't know it was pronounced "tuh-gaa-luhg"!). I went to the bar and asked for a fruity drink, and the bartender put rum and a couple other things I can't remember, and it was SO good I went back for seconds! (The glass was small lol). I felt warm and pleasantly happy LOL (curtains and alcohol and spelling crazy words, what fun! :P). The hotel where the Bee is at is next to where I go to the doctor and my pharmacy, and always admire the fancy curtains I could see in the windows, so as soon as I was able to I went to hunt them down, and OMG they looked more grand and epic than I imagined..I hadn't realized how tall they were! I was definitely swooning haha. I took a couple pics that weren't super great, so I figured I'd go back when it was dark. After the Bee was over mom and I went back, but there were a lot more people in the room then, and I felt super self-conscious..I definitely got some weird stares lol, but I got pics anyway. Vicki couldn't stay the whole night, so I sent her one of the pics of me and the curtain, and she said "yay!!! I have lots of Heather curtain pics now. ❤️" OMG she's too awesome for words lol. A fun night! (I'm pretty sure I'm still on a "curtain high" from yesterday LOL)

Jackie (she used to spell, and was with me and Denise on the team when we won first place in 2015 I believe, now she's the timekeeper), Adam (administrative assistant. I LOVE his floppy hair!! He almost always keeps it under a hat, and feel privileged when I get to see his hair haha. I love his fancy shirt too!), and Lynn, who used to volunteer at the bookstore. She helped Jackie keep time I think)
Renae Brockmeyer, Miss FNA (Fairbanks Native Association) 2024 (she popped the balloons when teams got out) and Lucie (the Executive Director) with the winners, Denise (not sure what that pose is with her hands lol), Jen (an English teacher, also fluent in Chinese) and an English teacher volunteer (forgot her name, oops lol)
CURTAINS!!! The picture doesn't do justice to how grand they are! That's my "self-conscious" pose haha, people must have though I was insane :P
I love when curtains are tied/hooked back like that, so fancy! I wonder if the staff ever closes them?
I present...Epic Hotel Curtain! I was surprised at how heavy the fabric was! This is absolutely my Facebook profile pic now LOL
18. What Role Did School Clubs and Teams Play in Your Life? In elementary school I took choir for a little bit (even though I'm terrible at singing haha) and in high school I took fencing for a couple years (super fun, even went to a couple competitions and got third place in both!) and Latin Club, which was also fun, and went to some competitions with that too
19. Which Photograph Stays In Your Memory?
Evans, Scott, Oates, Birdie and Wilson at the South Pole, one of the most powerful pictures I've seen. They're exhausted and devastated that Amundsen got there first
