3. What is the last movie you saw at the theatre and what did you think of it? 1917..I haven't been to the movies since covid began here! It was amazing though, one of my favorite movies now!
4. What is something (no matter what kind of mood you're in) that makes you happy the moment you do it, see it, or hear it? Seeing a cat, getting a surprise smoothie, etc
5. Do you believe that crop circles are made by human or alien? Some very bored humans :P
After typing passages here from my 9th grade school journal, I got inspired to write more memories, this time from my regular journal I kept for many years (2001-2008!! I named it Palmy haha. It's falling apart, so it'll be good to have the memories in more than one spot!). These entries will be from my Hawaii trip in 2003, which was also in 9th grade, so you'll be seeing a theme haha. Enjoy, and yeah, I made a lot of spelling errors again, sorry :P (I'll put my comments in brackets in bold)

Good morning, Palmy! I'm going to Hawaii today! I'm in DFW Airport right now. We will fly to St. Louis, Missori, then to Honolulu Hawaii, then to Kona! Well, talk to ya when we get there! (A LONG time from now.) Write later. *yawn* Hey again! I'm in Honolulu. It took a LONG 9 hours to get here! [Yeah, flying to Hawaii is brutal lol.] And we STILL have to fly to Kona!...I'm finally here! Our hotel [Mauna Lani] is REALLY REALLY fancy! Our room has a balcony that overlooks the HUGE pool area and probably the beach! (Can't tell - too dark.) It costs $500.00 a night! [Aunt Susan is a travel agent, so I imagine she got a good deal for us..otherwise, no way haha.] Since it is 9:02 PM here, it's probably 2:00 AM in Texas! I'm so tired! I always love hotel rooms that have balconies! I'm defineltly going to enjoy this trip! Good night, Palmy!

Good morning! It seems like it will be a nice Hawaiian day! We can see Mauna Kea volcano from our balcony view! I'll write later! Wo-hoo! I conjured [conquered] my fear of the ocean! Me, dad, Ryan, Carl, Jack, and Danny went snorkeling! It rocked! Only I got scratched up from the coral. There were cool fish, a huge turtle, and Jack saw a moray eel! Most of dad's side of the family is here, who is grandma, Susan, Patty, dad, Ryan, me, Jack, Danny, Carl, and Eric [Jack's son] and his girlfriend Devon, who are arriving later today. After snorkeling, we sat on the beach for a while. Then, dad, Jack, Danny and Carl went snorkeling again, while the rest of us moved to the pool area, which we are currently doing now. The others aren't back yet. I'm glad I skipped school (well, not really...) [LOL] to come to Hawaii!...We are eating at the Hard Rock later! Well, write later! 30 seconds later...I just have to tell you this, the hotel has 2 courtyards!! [BREAKING NEWS!!!] And there are palm trees EVERYWHERE, coconut palms! Ok, write later! The Hard Rock had good food! There was a balcony that looked right over the ocean. Ryan and I also got shirts! Mine us unique cause they only sell it in Hawaii. Then we picked up Eric & Devon. Good morning! I have an uneven sunburn from yesterday! [I had a towel on my legs after swimming.] Ohh, I want to go on the Internet so much! I'm pining to go to Quizilla and IMDb and talk to my friends. [This must have been before wi-fi?? LOL. Mom had also taught me the word "pining," and I used it obsessively after that. :P] I also want a CD called Blind Guardian ["A Night at the Opera."] One of my IMDb friens reccommended it to me. He even named himself after one of the songs' lyrics called "Battlefield" - "through violence and horror shall honor arise." His name is ShallHonorArise. [I remember him, it was he who introduced me to metal music. I still get a weird rushy feeling when I listen to "Battlefield" haha.] I also met a Highlander from the Scottish Highlands! I want to live there and have a 4 story house with 3 balconies and a courtyard! [*rolls eyes*] Her/his IMDb name is Lianachan, and she/he says it's Gaelaic, a language Highlanders know. I joined IMDb in July 2003 with the name of Isilwen-1, but before I went to Hawaii I changed it to Medieval Isilwen. ["Isilwen Moritz" was also the name I used when naively doing Internet survey things, and would get junk mail with that name on it. I hadn't done that in many years, so I was COMPLETELY shocked when I got mail with that name on it after I moved to Alaska! So weird lol.] Well, write later!
Me, Susan, grandma, and Patty just got back from shopping. Man, was that boring! Susan made me taste coffee and I said it was good even though it wasn't just to make her happy! [LOLOL. I think that was my first time trying coffee lol.] The others went snorkeling and their not back yet. To make shopping less boring (is that possible?!) I read The First King of Shannara by Terry Brooks. I LOVE the Shannara books! I got the sayings "shades" and "Leah! Leah!" from him. And I say "others" all the time since Terry uses it a lot! My fave character is Morgan Leah, from The Heritage of Shannara series! He's so awesome!...He got me addicted to Morgan Leah's name and now if I ever had kids I'll name my kids that. [I've always loved the name Morgan though.]...Write later!
We're in the city called Waimea. It reminds me of the Scottish Highlands cause its very green and there are hills. It's cooler than the lower elevation and it is so green cause it rains a lot. I'm just calling it the Highland Hills. One of the hills I'm looking at now is shrouded in clouds. We came here cause we went to a festaval that was boring. I got a GIGANTIC snow cone! I'm admiring the GREEN hills right now. If there were hills like that in Texas...I'll write later when I stop admiring "the Highland Hills." We're away from the Highland Hills now and in the barren lava scenery. I HAVE to come back there! There is a nice view of the ocean with the sun shining on it. I'll write later when I stop pining for the Highland hills and stop looking back hoping to see something of the Highland Hills. *sighs thoughtfully* Write later!

Good morning! Wow, it's 6:45. I guess I'm getting up early today. [Ewww, why would I get up that early on vacation if I didn't have to??]...I was taking a shower and you can control the temp, and I saw 115! Who in the world would want to take a shower with 115?! Well, write later! The men departed for the Highland Hills to bike ride while the rest of us are hanging out at the pool. They will probably be gone for about 2 hours. There is a Parker Square in the Highland Hills, not like the Texas one, but this one is named after a guy named Parker. Parker Ranch is the biggest cattle ranch in the US! I'm going to collect white rocks now so I can write my name in the lava. [That is now illegal.] Write later! OMG! Terry Brooks killed off my fave character in the First King! His name was Tay. Terry always seems to kill off most of the main characters and sometimes kills them in the nastiest ways possible! [I'm sure Game of Thrones is worse LOL.]...I think the others should be back from the Highland Hills soon. Dad took Ryan's camera to take pictures. Well, write later!

It feels good sitting by the pool in this warm weather. The others just called and said they are 20 min. away! Maybe they were away so long cause they were admiring the beauty of the green hills of the Highland Hills? Or maybe cause they loved bike riding so much they couldn't stop? Aunt Susan called the Highland Hills the Shire because it kinda does look like the Shire, but not really. [lol what??] I hope we do SOMETHING besides sit around the pool when the others get back. I hope I can convince everyone (unlikely) to go back to the Highland Hills cause I really wanna go back! [If only I had known I'd visit Waimea more than once over the years. :P] I hope I do something less boring tomorrow! There are all these annoying Japanese people in the pool speaking Japanese right now. [WTF??!!! D: Why would I even say something like that?? And wow, Japanese people speaking Japanese, WOW NO WAY hahaha.]...I wish mom was here. Ryan said when I refused to go in a shop with him and went with Danny somewhere else, he said there was a person from the Scottish Highlands there! Good morning! I got up at the exact same time as yesterday! Today is our last day. I hope we do something interesting today! Write later! I'm sitting at breakfast right now. Guess what?! I get to go back to the Highland Hills when the others go on another bike ride!! [Yay! If I remember right, I had to beg a lot haha.] This time I'm bringing my camera! Well, write later! Yay! We're driving to the Highland Hills!...It is already starting to get green, and it smells good!...I'll write when we get to the Highland Hills!...It's really cool and really green here. I think we're almost to the Highland Hills! [LOL I'm writing that like it's an expedition, Waimea was only like 16 or 17 miles from our hotel haha!] We're listening to some good music! Susan has a good taste in music! Write later! Yay!! We're at the Highland Hills now! It's SO cool here! I just LOVE the green hills! I took some pictures! Write later! [I was gonna say..stop writing, you'll miss Waimea that you so desperately wanted to see again!! Haha] Susan is driving me to the park that the festavl was at so I can take the best pictures of the hills! If I can't live in Scotland, I'll probably live here! It's not rainy here like it was on Saterday, but it's kinda cloudy. [It's ALWAYS cloudy in Waimea lol..it's such a different climate than Kona, probably because of its higher elevation.] I'm still admiring the green hills! They look even greener in the sun! Well, I took some great pictures! We're out of the Highland Hills. I met a "Highlander" in one of their stores. I'm happy I got to go back, but I'm probably gonna pine for it when I go back to the hotel and Texas. [I did, especially when it was rainy!] Write later! We picked them up at a tiny airport and while we were waiting to get the other van, some nice army people showed me, Jack, Carl, and dad a Black Hawk Helicopter. It was cool. From the runway, you can look across the ocean and see Maui! We are getting ice cream right now. Write later! We are driving back, and I can see the same hills that are in Waimea. One of them is shrouded in clouds, and looks so cool! On the other side of the road is a nice view of the ocean! Those hills look so cool and pretty from this view! Oh shades, I'm already pining for the Highland Hills!...It's so barren where we are! Oh, now is a VERY nice view of the hills! Too bad I can't take a piccy! [What? Why not?? I brought my camera! Guess I was too busy writing. :P]...Write later!
I called Amanda [my childhood best friend] today! We haven't talked in forever! She was very surprised when I told her I was in Hawaii! [And when she answered, she was like "you still have my number??" Wow, nice to talk to you too. That was probably the last time I ever called her.]...Ryan and dad went snorkeling AGAIN! Susan, grandma, and I are by the pool, and the rest went to take the bikes back. We are going out to dinner tonight at Cafe Pesto, [aww, they closed in 2018! Last time I was there Danny got super drunk and I had to go outside because everyone was so loud. D: The feral cats were cool though lol.] near the Highland Hills. Well, write later! Good morning! We are leaving today. *sob* I think we're gonna write our name in the lava before we leave. Write later...We are at breakfast now. I got the same thing every day! [It was either very good, or I'm just boring LOL.] Write later! We wrote our name in the lava so everyone can see it! It looks cool! We are on our way to the airport right now. You know what's weird? There's all these names in the lava but you never see anyone doing it. Ther's this nice view of the ocean. It is turquouse, then it gets dark blue. It looks cool! Write later!
We're at Honolulu Airport on the island of Oahu. There is a nice view of some cool, green hills, like the Highland Hills, only these hills look even more like the Scottish Highlands! There are more hills here than in Waimea, and there is a long chain of them. The tallest ones are shrouded in clouds. I shall call these hills--Oahu's Highlands! If I can't live in the Highland Hills, than I'll live here! There is also a view of the tall buildings of downtown Honolulu. I bet they get a good view of the hills! I don't wanna go back to Texas! It's so boring! Unlike here, there's lush, green hills, volcanoes, beautiful beaches, jungles, and very weird weather patterns! Weird weather patterns - it can be raining at the Highland Hills, but at our hotel it's perfectly sunny! [OMG yes, I'm always amazed at that when I go there..there will be clouds all around Kona, but Kona's always sunny! Must be in a rain shadow or something..a cool microclimate!] Well, write later!
We are on our flight home. I'll miss Hawaii. The tropical trees, the green, lush hills of the Highland Hills, [didn't I say this already?? Haha!] the turquouse-turn-blue ocean, the weird weather patterns, the luxury hotel, the amazing balcony view, and Hawaii itself! We are going to watch Bruce Almighty! I'd rather watch the Two Towers, but this movie's good too! Jim Carrey and Morgan Freeman are in this movie. What's if Morgan's last name was Leah? That would be freaky! It hasn't started yet. Great. When I get back to school I'll have a lot of make-up work to do. And I have to go on the Internet! I just saw Maui and the Big Island from the window! I didn't know they were that close! This flight will be 6 hours, thank goodness! I hope my next big trip will be to the Scottish Highlands, cause dad says we should go back to Europe! But now, I just have to go back to boring Texas. It's not rainy here like it was on Saterday, but it's kinda cloudy. [It's ALWAYS cloudy in Waimea lol..it's such a different climate than Kona, probably because of its higher elevation.] I'm still admiring the green hills! They look even greener in the sun! Well, I took some great pictures! We're out of the Highland Hills. I met a "Highlander" in one of their stores. I'm happy I got to go back, but I'm probably gonna pine for it when I go back to the hotel and Texas. [I did, especially when it was rainy!] Write later! We picked them up at a tiny airport and while we were waiting to get the other van, some nice army people showed me, Jack, Carl, and dad a Black Hawk Helicopter. It was cool. From the runway, you can look across the ocean and see Maui! We are getting ice cream right now. Write later! We are driving back, and I can see the same hills that are in Waimea. One of them is shrouded in clouds, and looks so cool! On the other side of the road is a nice view of the ocean! Those hills look so cool and pretty from this view! Oh shades, I'm already pining for the Highland Hills!...It's so barren where we are! Oh, now is a VERY nice view of the hills! Too bad I can't take a piccy! [What? Why not?? I brought my camera! I called Amanda [my childhood best friend] today! We haven't talked in forever! She was very surprised when I told her I was in Hawaii! [And when she answered, she was like "you still have my number??" Wow, nice to talk to you too. That was probably the last time I ever called her.]...Ryan and dad went snorkeling AGAIN! Susan, grandma, and I are by the pool, and the rest went to take the bikes back. We are going out to dinner tonight at Cafe Pesto, [aww, they closed in 2018! Last time I was there Danny got super drunk and I had to go outside because everyone was so loud. D: The feral cats were cool though lol.] near the Highland Hills. Well, write later! Good morning! We are leaving today. *sob* I think we're gonna write our name in the lava before we leave. Write later...We are at breakfast now. I got the same thing every day! [It was either very good, or I'm just boring LOL.] Write later! We wrote our name in the lava so everyone can see it! It looks cool! We are on our way to the airport right now. You know what's weird? There's all these names in the lava but you never see anyone doing it. Ther's this nice view of the ocean. It is turquouse, then it gets dark blue. It looks cool! Write later!
We're at Honolulu Airport on the island of Oahu. There is a nice view of some cool, green hills, like the Highland Hills, only these hills look even more like the Scottish Highlands! There are more hills here than in Waimea, and there is a long chain of them. The tallest ones are shrouded in clouds. I shall call these hills--Oahu's Highlands! If I can't live in the Highland Hills, than I'll live here! There is also a view of the tall buildings of downtown Honolulu. I bet they get a good view of the hills! I don't wanna go back to Texas! It's so boring! Unlike here, there's lush, green hills, volcanoes, beautiful beaches, jungles, and very weird weather patterns! Weird weather patterns - it can be raining at the Highland Hills, but at our hotel it's perfectly sunny! [OMG yes, I'm always amazed at that when I go there..there will be clouds all around Kona, but Kona's always sunny! Must be in a rain shadow or something..a cool microclimate!] Well, write later!
We are on our flight home. I'll miss Hawaii. The tropical trees, the green, lush hills of the Highland Hills, [didn't I say this already?? Haha!] the turquouse-turn-blue ocean, the weird weather patterns, the luxury hotel, the amazing balcony view, and Hawaii itself! We are going to watch Bruce Almighty! I'd rather watch the Two Towers, but this movie's good too! Jim Carrey and Morgan Freeman are in this movie. What's if Morgan's last name was Leah? That would be freaky! It hasn't started yet. Great. When I get back to school I'll have a lot of make-up work to do. And I have to go on the Internet! I just saw Maui and the Big Island from the window! I didn't know they were that close! This flight will be 6 hours, thank goodness! I hope my next big trip will be to the Scottish Highlands, cause dad says we should go back to Europe! But now, I just have to go back to boring Texas. Well, good afternoon! [I still haven't made it to Scotland, but this time I want to go to see the Discovery, the ship Scott took on his first trip to Antarctica..that would be so cool!]
