Somehow I came across this video on YouTube (that site is like a black hole haha), and OMG I CAN'T. NO, CATS CANNOT BE VEGAN!! It will KILL THEM! I am HORRIFIED there's a website called Vegan Cats..be vegan all you want, but cats NEED meat to live!
"You could be killing hundreds of chickens or more to keep your picky cat alive. *disgusted eyeroll*" Oh man, wait till you hear about lions and bears and predators that have to kill something every day to live. And yes them killing birds and small animals is sad, but what about owls and foxes and stuff that kill them? You can't stop the natural circle of life from happening..it even can be a good thing, to keep the population down
"Not everyone wants to spend thousands of dollars creating a cat paradise, and nor should they. It's not a very good use of money when that money could save so many lives when it is devoted to more effective altruism." Well if you actually LIKE cats you'd see it wouldn't be a waste of money. I give money to the local shelter and sponsor a special needs cat in New Jersey, so don't try the guilt trip thing on me
Cats require a lot more work than dogs??! That is 100% untrue. Cats are independent and very easy to take care of. Yeah my cat isn't "cooped up in sub-optimal conditions" ("which they very likely are??" Wtf?). And they "don't lead very happy lives"??! Seriously?? Abby is a very happy cat..I'm sure some cats are sad about not being able to go outside, but they are so not miserable like you think they are. Cats' needs are misunderstood? Maybe..you should pay attention to your cat..?? Abby makes it very clear as to what she needs LOL
"CATS ARE KIND OF TOXIC"???!!! They're "DISEASE VENDORS"??! I have had cats MY ENTIRE LIFE and they've never given me some disease. At one point I had five cats and they were FINE. It probably does happen at times, but you can get diseases from ANY animal, sheesh
"If you MUST get a cat, adopt. Please, get a female, get her spayed, NEVER let her outside, and do your best to feed her vegan. Beyond that, try to make her tiny prison as engaging and possible. And for you, try to find some way to cope with your contribution to the billions of pounds of cat poop that's rotting in landfills *eyeroll* every year"
O
M
G!!
WTF!!!
What even..?!? I will absolutely NEVER be feeding my cat a vegan diet, and she is NOT in PRISON, WTF. She seems just fine here. And I'm WAY more worried about plastic and stuff like that in landfills than cat poop. Just..WOW *shakes head*
And after all that.."I really do adore cats"?? Yeah, totally sounds like it. Mom and I couldn't believe our ears when watching this. I can't believe people feed their cats vegan food! I don't care if YOU are, but your cat CAN'T! Have fun being alone and catless in the future, I'll be in bed snuggling with my HAPPY purring kitty <3
In more fun news lol, here are more cool ancestors:
Charles W. Fairbanks (6th cousin 3 times removed), who FAIRBANKS, ALASKA IS NAMED AFTER??! Wow, what are the chances of that haha??
John, Joan, Edward and Agnes Tilly (aunts and uncles), and John and Joan's daughter Elizabeth Howland (direct ancestor (5 generations)'s 1st cousin 8 times removed), who married John Howland, who were all Mayflower passengers!! I think it's hilarious that I'm related to everyone on the Mayflower EXCEPT Stephen Hopkins, the guy I thought I was descended from in the first place haha (unless being related by marriage counts, but that's not as cool as being a direct descendant lol)
Saher Quincy (direct ancestor, 26 generations), a Magna Carta Surety Baron! Normally I'm skeptical of lines that claim to go back THAT far, but the Barons' lines are well-documented. Cool!
