AFN potlatch

glacier_kittyToday I went to the AFN (Alaska Federation of Natives..they're having a conference in Fairbanks this week) potlatch. Shirley invited me to go with her and mom drove us there. I had never been to a potlatch before so I was curious (though kinda nervous since I'm not Native haha). It was cool..there was some singing and dancing before we ate..it's fascinating how everyone just knows the moves haha (though I guess that's kinda like how Americans know the Macarena..we just grew up with it). There was sooo much food..moose soup, bread, salmon, chicken, all sorts of desserts..I feel unhealthy now haha. They were very efficient in feeding everyone too. I got to take some moose home too..yum! I bet the potlatch wasn't as traditional as the ones in the villages, but it was still cool

20. A difficult time in your life
Moving up to Alaska was quite hard, and definitely a shock. I felt sad at festivals cause I didn't know anyone. I really missed Texas. There was a point where I had anxiety attacks every night when I went to bed. Things got better once I started working at the bookstore and getting to know people. I love Alaska now! (I miss good Texas food though :P)
Would you rather be given a rectal exam by a dentist or have a cavity filled by a proctologist? The cavity
