Awww the bookstore couldn't hire you on as a staff member without the AmeriCorps thing? Will you stay on as a volunteer? Ugh the spookyg thing is so uncool, like I said on fbook, she's the sad one! WTH lady, 3$ is too much to pay? I think it's so weird/funny when people complain about prices at secondhand shops. You're paying at most a quarter of what it originally cost!! The Salvation Army's here have big signs over the cash basically saying "don't try to negotiate the price, our cashiers aren't allowed to give you discounts!" Value Village does bother me sometimes though because they will charge as much or even more for shirts that are Walmart brand as they cost new!
