Jul. 5th, 2024 04:48 pm1. What is the oldest object you own? Rocks, or maybe a fossilized bug caught in amber
2. What object have you owned the longest? My baby clothes and stuff are still in Payson haha
3. What is the newest object you own? Food
4. Who is your oldest living relative? Grandpa, I think..he's almost 90!
5. Who is your youngest living relative? A cousin, probably
Today at the bookstore a kid came in with who I assumed with her mom and grandma, and they were talking to her in a super mean way, for no reason I could see. She'd ask about getting a book and one of them would yell "NO!!" I was just like.."is that really necessary??" I felt bad for the poor kid..the longer they were there, the meaner they got. I got the really awful feeling I get when around angry/yelling people. I was trying to check out a customer, and by that time they were both yelling super loudly at the poor kid. I was pretty much having a panic attack by then, and was having a lot of trouble trying to operate the register (I apologized to the customers, though I imagine they weren't happy about the yelling either). Finally I couldn't take it anymore and was like "guys, would you please stop yelling??" One lady apologized, but still was talking mean to the kid in a quieter voice. That's just awful! You don't just yell like that in an indoor public space, unless there's a very good reason..it's upsetting and unpleasant! I can tolerate quite a bit, but yelling isn't one of them..I just start panicking. I felt so bad for the poor kid..if she's treated like that in public, her home life must be even worse! Wow. I'm glad my shift was over by then, so I could go hug my curtains haha. Being mean like that is just not ok!
I'm sleeping better in this cooler rainy weather..it's nice to have a break from the heat! I think we got more rain yesterday than we did the entire month of June haha. The rain has slowed the fires too..good, we don't need any more smoke :P
