Solving the mystery
Apr. 7th, 2019 08:24 pmI think we have found a big reason why dad has been feeling so bad..last week he was having reallly bad stomach pain and belching a lot..mom took him to the ER (again!) since he couldn't get in to see his doctor right away, and they finally set him up with an endoscopy (I had one too, after choking a few years ago). They found he was having acid reflux because of a hiatal hernia, where your stomach to bulges up through your diaphragm (WTF?!? D: He did say it felt like something was stuck is his throat D: *shudders*). It can be fixed with surgery, but they prescribed him medicine first to see if that would help, and he's been doing a lot better! We're now wondering if it was his stomach all along, and he got so anxious because no one could find what was wrong with him..too bad, his body is addicted to Ativan now (he's taking a lot less now though) and his feet and hands get tingly when he doesn't take it. He's not perfect, but he's definitely improved. Such a relief to not see him on the couch in pain! Hopefully he will continue to improve!
Since dad's feeling better and can drive safely now, mom and I get to go to California on Wednesday! I'll get to see Scott's second to last game before the tournament, woohoo! (They finally won a game yesterday, yay!) Hopefully I'll get to talk to him and his sister and other family members, and meet up with Dana and Aunt Susan and go geocaching! The flight leaves at 8 AM though, ugh..hopefully I'll be rewarded with glaciers though ;)
