Hopeful Mayflower match!
Sep. 6th, 2018 03:47 pmSo the Mayflower Society has a Lineage Match Form you can fill out, where you write your Mayflower ancestor and then go back through the generations to yourself, and tell tell you if any of their approved records count and stuff. I did mine for William Brewster, and they emailed me back saying everything from the 6th generation back has been previously proven, and don't need any documents for those people. They then said the 7th generation continued through Horace Hopkins..I had Benjamin Hopkins, and they said that Horace might have been his brother. I checked, and I indeed have Horace as his brother! I have to provide reliable documents from Benjamin on to myself..I know I can get records from my parents, and probably grandpa, and I've found records for a couple more people after him, but I'm not quite sure where to get records for Benjamin Hopkins. They said they sent their email and my Lineage Match Form to the Mayflower historian in Alaska..I emailed her as well, but she hasn't written back yet. Hopefully she'll have some idea on where to get those records..I hope so, being part of the Mayflower Society would be so cool!
After today, it's supposed to be sunny/partly cloudy for awhile! I really hope so, it's rained and been grey since August! It gets depressing after awhile. It'll be nice to see the sun and blue sky again!
( Sept. 4-6 )
Today's trivia: In 1979 two couples with their children escaped East Germany in a homemade hot air balloon. The balloon climbed to 8000 feet and landed in West Germany. It was their second attempt, their first landed 200 yards short of the border
