Brrr, -56!! Fun facts: Yakutsk is the coldest major city on earth, and is the largest city built on continuous permafrost. That's also the town the survivors of the Jeannette Expedition reached after the ship got crushed and having to sail and march over the ice and desolate tundra of the Lena River. Out of 33 men, only 13 survived. I always think about that expedition when I hear about Yakutsk..
It's also so cold in Pensacola, Florida, that the ocean is "smoking"! That's actually super cool! Part of the river here is unfrozen all year (the power plant pours warm water there or something like that) and it "smokes" like that when it gets cold enough, but in Florida?? Wow! Meanwhile here it got so warm last night that it poured down rain! Crazy weather is crazy :P
