My mom had to come up for her job so she could get her retirement (she was an air traffic controller..they contracted out the jobs in the Lower 40 and Alaska was the only place that didn't get contracted out). Mom is retired now, but we love it up here and my brother and I have good jobs, so we're staying for now anyway. We also have a house in Arizona we can escape to in the winter lol
