We are back from Northway! Yesterday was the nicest weather day we had! It was sunny and in the 60s..SO nice!! Later the guys who were relieving mom arrived and the guy who does the weather at night (Aaron) also arrived with his family. Aaron seemed ok at first but as I kept getting to know him I was just like WTF. He kept bragging about how he beat up/shot at drunk Natives, he made super sexist/racist jokes, he would curse and be really rough with his kids (I saw him KICK one of them!!), he bragged about blowing up stuff, etc etc. But one of the worst things was he chewed/spit tobacco. asdfghhpk ew ew ew EW. I tried being respectful but after almost puking on the counter I was like "do you HAVE to do that right now??" He kept putting the bottle he was spitting in on the counter in front of us! *gag* He did spit it out after I said that, phew. But the next day when I saw him, he just kept doing it! He didn't even seem to care it grossed me out (I could smell it!). He just kept saying things like "chewing tobacco is manly! You feel awesome when you put it in your mouth!" and he OFFERED ME SOME. Oh heck no..I'd rather die than put that stuff in my mouth. That is one of the most disgusting things someone can do. So yeah, I was NOT happy to see him drive up. By this time I couldn't even be civil to him anymore..he told me he hated cats this time (he said "I'm sorry" when I said I had a cat. I lost it, I was defending why I liked cats so much. He never seems to LISTEN though..he really needs to learn respect (he's a year older than me even!). His kids are actually pretty sweet though. One kept going outside and bringing me dried flowers..aww, so cute!
After they left and we had dinner, all four of us walked by the runway. Mom and I had been wanting to, but it was too cold and windy. It was still too cold and windy haha..it dropped down to the 30s!! Evil cold front. It was over a mile in total..coldest walk ever! I was so glad to get back to the buildings and cuddle under a blanket haha
This morning I woke up to a TOTAL BLIZZARD. WTF. The poor guys that took over from mom must have had such a slow day today. It was kinda sad leaving..it may be mom's last trip (she's supposed to retire in June) and it was a cool experience. After we packed up we drove into the village..not much, just people's houses. We went to Aaron's house (luckily he was sleeping) and said bye to them (mom knew them from last year too). One of the kids hugged me hehe. :) After that we continued on our way. OMG..the weather was awful! The visibility was so bad! The car got insanely icy..it stayed icy all the way to Fairbanks! When we got to Tok we stopped in at 40-Mile Air since mom talked to them a lot and gave them brownies hehe. We also had lunch at Fast Eddy's. I should have worn my snow boots..the snow was piling up! The wind was insane and cold and getting snow all over me. What time of year is it again?? At one point mom had to pull over cause she couldn't turn the wheels since the wheel wells were getting so iced up!! Eventually it lessened up, phew. Most of the rivers and lakes were still pretty frozen..jeez. For some reason all the birds wanted to commit suicide on mom's car..one succeeded. :( Poor thing. When we got to Fairbanks, it was sunny! What a change. :P Mom went into her work and did paperwork and stuff and them drove to her house. Yay kitties! Yay fast Internet!! Hehe. I shall post my pics soon!

That weather is so confusing! In the 60s one day and a blizzard the next?? Wow. Poor birds committing suicide on your mom's car...aww!! At least only one succeeded and not more.

WTF, Aaron sounds like a disgusting person! Chewing tobacco is so gross and he really should have stopped as soon as you expressed your dislike of that habit. I also think you don't have to be respectful to someone who says the things he did - he doesn't seem to respect other people much himself. What a piece of work, I would have hated having to spend time with him D:
And he's 25? I was thinking he was an older man - so disappointing to hear there are young people with views like his D:
