Can't he be himself?

Yesterday I saw on the back of a car www.helpnicolas.com so I went to this site...and he has autism and his parents want him to beat it. Is there something WRONG with being autistic? Do people HAVE to be normal? Is one day there gonna be a cure for it like it's a disease? You know people with autism can be really smart..

I've gotta write my essay on the Van Gogh painting I picked. Joy. At least I don't have history reading this week (finished the two chapters this weekend)

Robert Jordan died last month..he was the author of the Wheel of Time series. He died before he could finish the last book in the series. He did tell the details to his family though..maybe someone will finish it? Though he did say it could be over 1000 pages long..

Today's Latin: nolite reficere quod non fractum est (if it ain't broke, don't fix it)

We all have a duty to inform others that Nicolas might just want to be himself.

One song that was a big hit in the late 1980s was titled Why Can't I Be You?. Maybe we should get together and record a single, donating all the proceeds to civil rights groups like Aspies For Freedom, and call it Why The &%@* Would I Want To Be You?.

Ugh...I definitely fully agree with you...what is so terrible about being autistic? People add such a negative stigma to it, and it's really unfair...and YES people with autism can be smarter than most people without it at times! There is this huge thing in Psychology with syndromes/disorders like autism and the like...like how people should NOT consider such things a "disease"...that has such negative connotations. I don't even like the term disorder for the same reason, but I still feel compelled to use it just so people would know what I'm talking about at times.

Good luck with your essay...I hope I'm not bothering you too much so that you can concentrate on it. :P I so can't multitask like you when it comes to school work haha. You're talented!

I HAD NO IDEA THAT ROBERT JORDAN DIED! OMG. Phil, Dylan, and Curran will be sad, if they don't already know. :(

Hahah you procrastinator. ;)

Yess they are always scrambling over each other to borrow books from each other whenever one of them has finished the latest one and stuff haha.

I don't think there's anything wrong with being Autistic at all, and yes it does make people smarter. There's LOTS people don't realize about it, however, like other things it can have bad effects on a person's well being. I don't think people should "cure" it or anything, just work with the person and treat them like a person and help them get through the rough spots that autism may provide them with. That goes for EVERYTHING, though.

Autistic people are special. A lot of the time they know a lot of things "regular" people don't.

I saw some Dave Barry books at the library today and thought of you since I always read about how you're reading his books heh. As soon as I'm done with the HUGE pile of books I have to read, I might check them out hehe.
