Like a lot of other people, I made a Dreamwidth account (same name). I don't think anything will happen to LJ (I would die!!), but a backup is always a good idea. I've been here since 2004 and would be devastated if I lost everything. I'll definitely keep using LJ though, it's the best! I'm sure the Russians would love my endless posts about Cherry LOL, so not too worried about security stuff either :P

Yesterday and today the weather was finally decent enough to go hiking! Yesterday we went to a place with giant boulders (I like that boulder. That is a nice boulder. Haha) and explored and found a couple geocaches (before that, we'd only found one on this trip! It's pretty hard to geocache when others in your group don't care about it lol)

Today we went to a place about an hour south of Payson. Mom decided to go down there because it's warmer and Ryan's super cold blooded (even today, in the 60 degree weather, his hands were still cold!). Except Ryan was like "I don't wanna drive and go out to eat and geocache etc etc." Ugh, he's one of the least fun people I've ever met..it's really frustrating! He just wants to stay home and watch TV. Meh. He did go anyway though. The weather was sunny and the perfect temperature for hiking. We were in the desert, and all the holes made by burrowing animals (snakes?) were creepy. O_o I kept feeling like something was going to bite me at any moment haha. It was a nice hike though (I think we did 3 or 4 miles maybe) and we found 13 geocaches!! (Sorry Ryan, we can't pass them up when they're right by the trail lol.) The mountains were so beautiful on the drive back to Payson. <3 So nice to see the sun again!!

Today was International EarthCache Day, and you got a digital souvenir if you found one today. Mom and I went to the one at the Chena Flood Control dam..that was cool, I'd never seen it before! (They had to close the gates at least 2 or 3 times this summer so the river wouldn't flood Fairbanks.) It was a beautiful day, and warm for October! Amazing there's no snow on the ground (there's none in the forecast either). There's lots of geocaches in that area (a group put out 100 caches around Chena Lakes!), so we looked for more..I haven't logged them all yet, but I found at least 10 or 11 (too bad mom already had some of them lol). The trails around the river are beautiful. :) Yay, nice day lol

Now Fabio Lione and Alex Holzwarth have left Rhapsody of Fire..well there goes my desire to listen to their new stuff anymore. It's just NOT the same without Luca and Fabio. I never got to see them in concert either. :( I hope Fabio will continue to sing, he has such a great voice! I'm also REALLY glad all this didn't happen in like 2005 or 2006 when I was obsessed with them..I would have been a crying mess! Still sad though :(

Day 5: Post a picture of you on holiday )

I apologize in advance for the craziness of this post, but OMGOMG I just came across some pics of Cherry I've never seen before (they were taken by a different photographer, not Ponting..somehow I missed them even though the photo collections are on the same website)

A PICTURE OF EXISTS WITH HIM WEARING GLASSES OMG. I am completely freaking out right now OMG lol. You don't know how badly I've been wanting to find a pic of him wearing glasses!! And check out that smile! *swoons* I haven't looked through all the pictures from this other guy's pics, but here are a few more of Cherry I found so far (so happy they were on the very first page!)

yay new pics of cherry! )

Well that made my day/week/year LOL. Mom and I also found a few geocaches today, so that was cool too. Now I need to calm down so I can sleep LOL (at least I'll think happy thoughts before bed :P)

So Saturday was Dana and Matt's wedding! Before the wedding, mom and I were determined to find more than one or two geocaches, or looking for one and not finding it (caching in such a busy place is hard! Especially when you have to figure out where to park). We ended up finding ELEVEN!! Heck yeahh. I think that's my third best day of caching (my second is 16 I think and my best is 20). That was satisfying lol. After that we got ready for the wedding. It was pretty much the best wedding ever..Dana looked perfect and gorgeous and just bursting with happiness. When the officiator was reading his notes both of them stood there looking at each other bursting with love and happiness. It was so awesome when they were finally pronounced man and wife!! They were made for each other. <3 After that was happy hour or something, or "standing around eating and talking" lol. Mom and I snuck up to our room to get a book since that's neither of our fortes lol. After that was dinner..I met Matt's mom and stepdad, the ones that live in Payson. None of us can get over how dad bought a house in the same town Matt's parents live haha. There was also a photobooth (fun! I'm gonna hang those pics on my fridge :D) and dancing. Mom and I hung back at first (we're the worst dancers ever, and shy lol) but when Uptown Funk came on (a great dancing song!) we decided to go up there. Might as well let loose and have fun! We might have been flailing more than dancing LOL, but whatever. Poor Dana was getting tired though (it was fun dancing with her too! She saw the rare side of me lol). Mom and I left around 11 and Dana said the party wound down around midnight. The Best Man and Maid of Honor made great speeches too, which were 100% true. It was a great night!! So happy they're finally married :D

the rest, and pics under here! )

Mom and I visited Aunt Susan and Uncle Carl and their kitties today (twice in a year, woohoo!) and after we left we went to Redondo Beach. WOW it has changed! I don't even remember the last time I was there, but still. THERE WERE SO MANY PEOPLE OMG. California has gotten so crowded. :( We managed to get one geocache, so yay lol

Mom and I actually fly home tomorrow, not Tuesday. I'll be glad to get back to calm Alaska, though it was super awesome seeing Dana again <3 (best wedding ever!!). I'll post more in depth about the last couple days and more pics after I get home. I'm so glad I wasn't there this past week, it was in the high 80s and maybe ever 90s in some places!! Yikes. At least in San Diego there's air conditioning lol. I hope I see cool scenery on the flights home..

Yesterday mom and I had to shop for wedding clothes..ugh, clothes are SO weird and ugly nowadays. D: We went to Macy's, when we probably should have gone to JcPenny instead (much cheaper)..oh well, next time. It took awhile, but thankfully we found something. After that we were just completely done with malls and crowds and noise and just wanted to relax at the hotel for awhile. I so prefer the slower less crowded pace of Alaska (and freeways are completely scary and stressful D:). We did that and then went for a walk by these parks and the ocean before it ~got dark~ (omg). THAT was much nicer than the stress of the mall, and we got three geocaches! (We got one at the mall too.) After that we just went back to the hotel

This morning I was looking for bookstores in San Diego, and found one that had cats! (Adams Avenue Book Store) I was like "YEP, we are going there today!" haha. So we did, and yay kitties!! Hehe. One didn't mind getting pet (and mom said when she sat in a chair she and the cat had a conversation haha), but after a minute the other cat put its paw up like it was gonna scratch me, so I had to stop. :( I'm glad the other cat liked to be pet lol. I found some books too, so that was cool. After that we went to the USS Midway, a decommissioned aircraft carrier turned into a museum. It was pretty cool! I've been on military ships before, but I think this was the first time going to an aircraft carrier. It was huge, like a floating city! We saw everything from the engine room, sick bay, post office, air traffic control area (mom loved that, of course lol), kitchen, bridge, etc. Cool place. After that we went to Dana and Matt's rehearsal dinner. They wanted an evening to just relax with the people that are closest to them (aww, honored <3). It was cool seeing people she talks about a lot, and seeing people I've met before too (like her parents..when I visited Dana when she lived in New Jersey we crossed the Delaware River into Pennsylvania and they always think of me when they go over that bridge..aww!). It was definitely nice, though planes flew over us like every 5 minutes, which was rather annoying (we much have been right under the flight path)..oh well. :P After that mom and I went into the Jacuzzi when we got back to the hotel since the evening was actually kinda chilly and we were tired of being cold lol. It definitely felt nice, and we got to see the fireworks from Sea World too (they're like practically across the street from the hotel lol). Long day!

Yay, Dana and Matt's wedding is tomorrow!! So exciteddd!! :D

Yesterday mom and I arrived in San Diego. Our flight to Seattle was supposed to depart at 1:30 AM, but the flight with the crew were delayed in Anchorage because of a mechanical problem. A flight from Seattle was coming with crew that could go on our airplane though..by the time we left it was around 2:30 AM and the sun was just coming up haha! The agents at the counter rebooked everyone with connecting flights before 7 AM (we were one of them). Alaska Airlines is AWESOME, seriously..they handled the situation well and we didn't have to wait ages for them to rebook us (and they weren't like "oh well, you'll just have to figure it out when you get to Seattle"). I was afraid they'd lose our luggage, but it got through just fine. The weather was mostly cloudy, but I did see the top of Mt. Hayes, Hess and Deborah. I kept falling asleep at the window haha, but I doubt I missed much. I did see a little glacier though (it was hard to tell between clouds and glaciers, but this was definitely a glacier cause I could see crevasses). Unfortunately on the rebooked flight mom and I both had middle seats..I was a little worried since last time I had a middle seat I had a huge panic attack and cried and yelled at my brother. D: I was determined not to freak out this time (and I had Xanax with me, just in case), and it worked! Sure sitting by two strangers was uncomfortable, but I got through it fine. I kept falling asleep and kept worrying that my head would fall on one of their shoulders LOL. When I woke up enough I watched some of The Finest Hours..I'll have to finish it on the flight home (I have the book too, though I haven't read it yet)

After we got our rental car and stuff, we drove to the hotel..it was too early for a room to be ready, so we had lunch and found a couple geocaches, yay! (There's one like 400 some feet from the hotel lol.) The first one we looked for was HARD..we were looking for something tiny (a nano, in caching speak lol). This family saw us poking around and were like "wtf are you doing?? You look silly crawling around down there" haha. We told them we were caching and one of the kids was like "oh yeah, I found one once!" They actually helped us look for it, and one of the kids actually found it! Awesome, considering how tiny that thing was lol. And uh..I kinda downloaded Pokemon Go LOL..I've never been into Pokemon, but that game sounded like too much fun to pass up (it reminded me of geocaching haha). It is definitely addictive lol. We were so happy when our room was available..it was so nice to take a nap and just hang out

Today we had breakfast and decided to pamper ourselves at the hotel's spa..mom got a pedicure and a manicure and I just got a manicure (my first one! I feel like my feet are weird and don't really like showing them to people lol). The nail technician (yep, that was her actual title lol) was born and raised in California and loved seeing pics from Alaska and hearing moose stories and stuff (and weirdly enough, the waiting room had a picture of a glacier hanging up! Weird how glaciers follow me, even to places like Hawaii lol). After that we went to the store to get snacks and stuff and then met up with Dana for dinner, yay! We met at her house..I saw her cat Remy and started petting him but he was like "wtf who are you" and walked away (I forget that not all cats aren't like Abby and need time to get used to strangers lol). After a few minutes he came around and purred and was loving our attention..he even let me pick him up, which Dana said he doesn't usually do..he knows cat lovers when he sees them. ;) Her other cat Indra doesn't like strangers at all, so we just had to admire her from a distance haha. We had a lovely dinner at a Mexican restaurant..Dana's been busy with wedding stuff, so she was very happy to have down time. We're gonna see her on Friday for her rehearsal dinner too, so that'll be cool. After that we drove back to the hotel (weird driving in the dark!) and now we're relaxing. Tomorrow we have to shop for clothes and shoes for the wedding..ugh. D: I hope I find something I like, it's hard to shop for clothes nowadays..

I know I keep mentioning this, but I keep realizing how much I was struggling to function before I started taking Prozac. Before when I would see Dana I couldn't look her in the face for whatever reason, but this time I was able to without feeling super anxious. I feel like I can talk and joke around with ease and not sit there and just like..retreat into myself? It's hard to explain..like I just felt dead inside or something. I'm pretty sure last year was the worst year of my life. Prozac has literally given me my life back, and it's AMAZING. To everyone struggling with depression, don't give up! You WILL find something that helps you <3

Yesterday mom and I went kayaking down the Chena River with Bonnie and Jeanie (mom used to work with her). It was a nice day, though HOT, and everyone else in Fairbanks seemed to have the same idea as us haha. We floated from the Wendell St. Bridge to Pike's Landing, where we had dinner..at 10 PM, but who cares, it doesn't get dark lol (I'm sure they get river traffic late like that all the time..it felt more like 6 or 7 than 10 PM though!). I also found a geocache on an island, which obviously you need a boat to get to or wait for the river to freeze (I guess you could swim too, but that water's too cold for me :P). It was appropriately named "Pirate Denny's Last Stand"..I kinda felt like a pirate searching for treasure on an island haha. It was a lovely night..I love Fairbanks' summer days!!

Today is mom's 61st birthday! Lately it's been rainy and gloomy and bleh, but today is pretty much perfect..blue skies, low 70s, breezy..we had to find some geocaches, especially since mom was 5 away from 1000! The mosquitoes were intense, but it was so nice just to be outside on such a nice day! Mom indeed found her 1000th cache, woohoo! (I only got 4 since I had already found one of them, but that's alright lol.) Just as we were about to leave, the couple that hid the cache showed up! Oddly enough, it was his wife's birthday too, and they were going to get a drink at the nearby brewery. They thought it was awesome that one of their caches was mom's 1000th one hehe. We celebrated by getting pizza at Pizza Hut, yumm. I'm glad she had a great birthday, and I hope this awesome weather continues! (I've always been amused that mom's birthday is exactly a week after mine lol)

We've gotten a CRAZY amount of donations at work lately..poor Denise and Becky can't keep up with them. I'm glad for the job security though :P

Yesterday mom and Bonnie and I drove up to Circle (around 156 miles north of Fairbanks). Mom and Bonnie are going on a float trip on the Yukon River out of Circle in July, and wanted to check it out (and they invited me cause they're awesome lol). It was funny..when mom and I drove to Birch Hill last week we passed the mileage sign for Circle..I was thinking "we should just randomly go there someday" and like two days later they were like "let's go to Circle!" Haha. It was COLD and SNOWING up at Eagle Summit!! Last week it was hot and in the 80s, this week it's in the 40s and snowing..wtf?!? There was still a lot of snow (like FEET of it) left over from winter..wow. Before Circle is a community called Central (not confusing at all :P)..it was pretty nice for a town in the middle of nowhere lol. Circle wasn't as nice, but it was still interesting to see it..though I felt like we were invading the town since it's so small lol (OH NOES OUTSIDERS). We looked in their grocery store, which was VERY interesting..the cashier was smoking and eating popcorn straight off the counter (O_o), the back desk looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years, and there were tons of fliers and political stuff on the walls. We also checked out Circle Hot Springs, which for whatever reason closed some years ago. Too bad, it looked like a cool place! I wanted to explore, but I also didn't want to get shot :P (you never know, it's Alaska lol). Thankfully on the drive back it got sunny..so pretty! Mom and I found 10 geocaches, and Bonnie found a couple more we already had..she now has over 1000 caches!! (The one cache in Circle was her thousandth lol.) I wanted to get 700, but there's only so much time..too bad, I just need one more! We actually found every cache we looked for, even ones that hadn't been found in months! That's pretty awesome lol. One cache was up this steep hill filled with dead trees and random undergrowth..we felt accomplished getting that one lol (my poor legs got scratched up though..geocaching battle scars lol). For wildlife, we saw birds, a grouse or ptarmigan, a couple bunnies, an ermine with a vole in its mouth, and a fox! Aww :)

Last night mom and Bonnie and I went to a program called Dark Winter Nights..it's where regular people tell a story of something that happened to them in Alaska (they broadcast it on the radio too). My favorite story was told by a guy who used to drive the buses in Denali. He was having a great time engaging the tourists and getting them to sing and they were seeing cool animals..but there was one person he kept looking at, a 10 year old boy with just a blank stare on his face..this group of people kept trying to engage him and encourage him but nothing happened. When they stopped for a break his mom came up and said his dad shot himself right in front of the kid a year ago and he hadn't said a word since..they were with a prayer group and they thought a trip to the wilderness would help the kid. The tour guide got a drum out and started singing and he was drumming with the kid's hand in his..and then he just started mouthing the words and beating the drum harder and harder till he destroyed the drum and fell to the ground. He said the kid's first words were "I'm thirsty" LOL. After that the kid kept asking questions and him mom was just sobbing. Wow. He said that now the guy is training to be on a talk show radio I think

Another powerful one was this guy who helped build the new Black Rapids Lodge (I think he served us lunch when we stopped there once). He and his friend and dog were caught in an avalanche while backcountry skiing..he was able to dig himself out, but it took two hours and he knew his friend and dog were dead. A couple months later he went back and dug them out..the dog was curled up by his friend and had a paw on his shoulder..OMG. So sad, but the dog provided comfort till the very end. I loved how people kept saying that even though Alaska can be a hard place to live, everyone bands together and helps each other. Alaska is our home, with amazing experiences (like one person said they saw amazing Northern Lights at a hot springs) and nice like-minded people :D

There was also a cute reindeer you could take pictures with!

It's crazy..after being bullied for years as a kid, I find myself being liked by a lot of people. I'm definitely loved at work..today a coworker said I was cool and smart. The other day a customer told me she missed me when I was in Hawaii and that she likes having me around. I still kinda struggle with "why would people like me? I don't deserve to be liked," but I'm trying to embrace it too. It's nice finally finding somewhere I truly belong and not feeling like an outcast <3

There is a geocache named after me!! These two cachers from Anchorage (I think?) put out caches named after Alaska cachers..mine is near the Glenn Highway, but I think a lot of them in Anchorage too. Even so, I still feel special :D

Yay, I met Temple Grandin! I wish I had gotten a better picture, but she was really busy trying to sign other people's books and stuff. In her lecture she empathized that kids with autism need to get out and be exposed to things, not just stay inside playing video games or whatever. I thought it was cool she got to go dogsledding at the university haha..I hope she liked Alaska :)

Mom and Bonnie and I also found three geocaches at Creamer's Field and went to just a casual meet and greet event, since you got digital souvenirs for doing both of those things during Leap Day weekend and on Leap Day. It was fun, I missed our geocaching adventures lol

Except for Leonardo DiCaprio finally winning one, the Oscars were pretty terrible. Too many tasteless jokes :/

Before going to the airport, everyone had time to have breakfast together. Susan said she was so happy to see us again and was crying when we had to say goodbye. She hugged me and told me I'm such a sweet girl. Mom said she wanted to stay longer by ourselves so we could geocache more and stuff..that would have been nice, but I couldn't really handle the sun and heat and humidity anymore lol. Mom and I did manage to find two geocaches on the way to the airport, which was nice. I guess nine total is better than none lol. Even if I was tired of the sun, it was still sad to leave lol. I hope there's less drama when I see everyone next time (yeah right :P). Thankfully the flight to Seattle was shorter than when we left from there, 5 hours and some minutes. This time I watched Avengers: Age of Ultron (OMG I love the humor in those movies haha) and National Treasure: Secret of the Tomb (LOL at the lady playing Candy Crush on her computer). We got back to Fairbanks pretty late..it was nice to sleep lol

Here are more pics, though I haven't uploaded all of them yet:

Yesterday me and my family mostly hung out by the pool (first I had to find a bathing suit, which was painful. It was so much easier when I was a kid lol). They're even crazier than I remembered haha. They couldn't stop talking about my tattoos, it was amusing. :P Aunt Patty has one on her ankle that says "meow" with a simple cat face on it, which is similar to the one I was thinking of getting next! Someone said of all of us, me and Patty seem the least likely to get tattoos, and yet we're the only ones of the group that have tattoos lol. We all got drinks..mine was a yummy fruity one..I'm so glad I can get drinks with them now haha. Mom and I stopped at one, but others just kept drinking throughout the day and getting wound up. Getting in the pool felt nice after sitting in the sun..I got sunburned, but not too badly. Mom and I found our first Hawaiian geocache too, woohoo!! Eventually it was decided to order pizzas, which mom would pick up since she only had one drink. Aunt Susan called our orders in and rode along with mom to get them. They were gone a long time..when they finally got back here we all congregated in Danny and Patty's room..when we opened the foil on the pizzas, it was a disaster. NONE of our orders were right..Susan said the restaurant was super busy and only one person was serving..she even called to complain but nobody even answered the phone..wow. She was pretty angry about that. Mom called it "the Hawaiian Pizza Fiasco" LOL. Eventually we had to escape to our room cause we couldn't handle everyone shouting and being so hyper..relaxing in bed was very nice after that :P

Today I woke up feeling horrible..I've been dealing with face/ear pain for a couple or so weeks and I just felt..run down and strange. I couldn't stand it anymore, and figured I had some type of infection, so mom took me to the closest clinic, 18 miles away in Waimea. The doctor said my sinuses are probably blocked and recommended some decongestants and stuff to try. He wrote me a prescription for antibiotics, but he only said to take them if I don't feel better by Monday. I do feel better after taking Sudafed and stuff. I hate being sick on vacation! Waimea is so weird..it's always rainy and cooler there, even though it's not THAT far from Kona (plus it's higher in elevation). Kona is like the one spot on the island that's always sunny and warm..I've always thought that was so weird lol. Mom and I decided to geocache on the way back..it's still CRAZY windy, and we got soaked from the rain..brrr!! Misty Mountains Cold from The Hobbit suddenly popped in my head, since there were pine trees around and one of the lyrics is "the pines were roaring on the height" haha. We managed to find two caches (and two we didn't find)..even if i got soaked and cold and grabbed a dead fish that I thought was a rock (ewww haha!!), it's part of the adventure and makes it even more fun..we just had to laugh at how crazy the wind was. I love our geocaching adventures haha. Now I'm relaxing in the room, but I'm gonna join Susan and co. by the pool now (I didn't want to wait till tonight to update, I'd probably be too tired). We're gonna go to a yummy restaurant tonight, yay :)

I am home, I got back last night. We were able to get 8 geocaches before turning in the rental car..we found 56 during the trip, nice! One thing I noticed was all the dogs in the airports..there were at least two or three on each flight. Dad said he noticed that too last time he flew..so weird! It must be a new trend or something lol. One dog barked some on the flight, but I'd much rather hear that than a screaming baby (and we had plenty of those, ugh). It was cool seeing Flagstaff, Sunset Crater and the Grand Canyon after we took off from Phoenix. The red rocks in the canyon looked beautiful in the sunlight. It felt great going back to work today (even if I felt like a zombie when I woke up haha). I love that everyone is always genuinely happy to see me when I come back <3 (Abby was happy to see me too hehe)

Yesterday we started off the day by finding 5 geocaches, then watched an IMAX film about the Grand Canyon. I was hoping it would talk about the geology, but only really talked about the people that discovered it and the narrator said dumb stuff like "the Grand Canyon doesn't need mankind." Whut. We also visited the visitor center and the geology museum, where a ranger was talking about the geology of the canyon..now that's more like it. My ASMR was going crazy listening to it haha (yeah I'm a nerd :P). The museum had great views of the canyon. We also went to this watchtower, which had great views of the canyon too. On the way to the tower I was reading the book I got on the geology of the canyon and suddenly it said the mountains near Flagstaff were glaciated during a couple Ice Ages!! Wow, I didn't expect to read about glaciers here haha! A picture in the book showed old moraines and stuff..niceee. After that was dinner and relaxing. We saw a few elk this day too! Aww. For some reason I kept seeing people from Alaska..they must have been getting away from the cold like us :P

Today we drove back to Payson, with a stop at Montezuma Well (it's pretty near Montezuma Castle). The well is a sinkhole fed by an underground spring. Weird seeing all that water in the desert lol. There are five animals endemic to the well, including water scorpions and leeches D: (mom read that right after I said I wanted to go swimming, since the water's so warm..uhh NEVERMIND haha). It was a pretty cool place. I think we found 8 geocaches today. I was so glad to get back to the house and take a nap lol. It's nice to just relax. I'll post my pics soon lol
glacier_kitty: (kitty - fence)
Yesterday we decided to take a road trip to the Grand Canyon, though we decided to stay the night at Flagstaff (a couple hours from Payson) so we'd have time to geocache and stuff. We found 10 geocaches, which is pretty awesome lol. When we got to Flagstaff we got a hotel room, went to Barnes and Noble, and had dinner at Olive Garden, yay!

Today's first stop was at Walnut Canyon, where a bunch of Native American cliff dwellings are. Unlike at Montezuma Castle, you could go in to some of the rooms there. You could see dark spots on the walls from their fires. You could see more dwellings on the other side of the canyon where there wasn't a trail. Wow..that must have been an interesting life. I thought it would be awful walking back up the canyon since it's at over 6000 feet, but it wasn't that bad since we went slow. Next we went to Sunset Crater, an old cinder cone (there were a bunch of other cinder cones around too). You could walk around the old lava flows by the Crater..weird, it kinda felt like we were in Hawaii haha. Next was a stop at Wupatki National Monument, which has a bunch of old Native American pueblos. We stopped at the biggest, most intact one..weird they built their homes in the middle of nowhere in the desert lol. It must have been hard work dragging all those rocks to build their home! After that we continued to the Grand Canyon. We saw some kind of cat cross the road! It may have been a bobcat since it didn't have a tail. We saw another javelina too! I hadn't been to the Grand Canyon since elementary school, so it was cool to see it again. It's definitely one of the most amazing things I've ever seen..amazing how a river carved all that. All the colors in the rocks are pretty too. I was definitely hungry so we had dinner and found our hotel. We're gonna stay tomorrow night too. I'm tired after being so busy all day, it's nice to relax lol (I think we found 5 caches today, must keep our streak going lol)

Today mom and I met up with Dana and met her fiance Matt for the first time..he's very nice and easygoing. It was great seeing her again, it had been a few years since we'd seen each other in person. We showed her around the house and decided to go to Montezuma Castle, with a stop at Tonto Natural Bridge along the way (mom and I went there in January too). The hike back up the hill from the bridge is a killer, especially since the altitude is above 5000 feet (I'd die trying to climb Mt. Everest D:). We also taught them to geocache, which was fun..Dana found the second one we looked for all on her own, nice! Montezuma Castle was cool (more exciting than the ruins we saw yesterday lol). Building the dwellings into the side of the cliff must have been hard work! After that we were hungry and saw that Sedona wasn't that far from where we were, so we decided to have dinner there, yay! Sedona is so beautiful. Unplanned adventures are the best lol. We had dinner at a Mexican restaurant, yum. I liked seeing all the Christmas lights as we drove back to Payson. I'm sooo happy I got to see Dana again..definitely one of the best days this year! They're getting married next July, so I'm glad I won't have to wait years to see her again lol. Yay <3 (Dana was mentioning how cool it was that we've been to so many states together..Texas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, California, Alaska, Arizona..nice!)

here are some pics! )

Today mom and I found 5 caches and went to some very unexciting Indian ruins lol..basically there were just rocks scattered everywhere. :P "Archaeologist" was even spelled wrong on one of their signs..FAIL haha. It was a BEAUTIFUL warm sunny day though..I can't believe how hot 60 degrees feels here!! I couldn't imagine being here when it's over 90. D: I managed to step on a little cactus too, ouch!

Tomorrow I'm gonna meet up with Dana and we're gonna go to Montezuma Castle (some of the best preserved Indian cliff dwellings in North America) and geocache along the way. Yay! I love going on adventures with her lol
