Wow..I can't believe it's the last day of 2016 already!! The year started off rough, but has been pretty great after discovering Prozac..I can live instead of exist and enjoy things again! Otherwise 2016 was crazy! Too many great people died..I hope 2017 is kinder

Here are all the books I read this year (one of my favorite parts about the end of the year LOL). I read 52 books..my second best year, woohoo! I never thought The Worst Journey would have affected my life this hugely though, wow..

I don't think I'm going to set a specific reading goal for 2017 except to read as much as I can (I can't believe I only read 27 books in 2012, when I first started tracking my books haha. Being happy makes reading nicer too :P). See you next year!

You Should Celebrate Friendship

It may have been a good year or a bad year, but no matter what, your friends helped get you through it.
And you can't imagine celebrating New Year's Eve without your closest friends around.

You are always happy to catch up with old friends on this night, and you're hoping to make some new ones too.
So this year, raise a toast to old and new friends. They make every day of the year a little brighter.

Sounds good to me haha

2012 went so fast..I probably say that every year haha but each new year goes faster than the previous one. Hopefully 2013 will be good

Woww I can't believe it's the last day of 2011. This year was the fastest ever

Good things
It started off really well. I was excited to start the new year. Watching fireworks at home was awesome. Later I went to Chena Hot Springs and saw a bunch of shooting stars and satellites. It was amazing
I started my 3rd term with AmeriCorps
I went to San Diego to visit Dana. Went stargazing in the desert which was cool
I started on the cash register for the first time in June..I saw I really liked it and wasn't as scary as I thought. I am more confident now
My birthday was AWESOME. I was showered with love and gifts and was just happy. I got my first tattoo and went shopping at Barnes and Noble
I went to Valdez and Cordova..I fell in love with Cordova. I went on an AWESOME glacier flightseeing trip..there were glaciers EVERYWHERE. I saw Childs and Miles glaciers which I couldn't drive to since the bridge was washed out. Amazingg
I kayaked to Shoup Glacier in Valdez
Went to summer BOW which was really fun
The winter hasn't been treating me that bad..the darkness hasn't bothered me as much as before. Maybe cause of Paxil or being distracted..or I'm used to it now
Aaand more

Bad
Some depression/anxiety still, but better than before
Repeating thoughts
TMJ (gonna see a specialist next month), worsening psoriasis..
...the good totally outweighs the bad haha

Hopefully 2012 will be awesome too!

Day 183- A picture of something that reminds you of coldness )
glacier_kitty: (chickadee)
1. What is the one place you never want to live? Iraq
2. Do you consider yourself to be a "picky eater"? Sure..I eat more things than I did as a kid though
3. What do you think people say about you behind your back? Sometimes I think bad things..but I hope they don't
4. If you could own and operate any major business what would be? A bookstore?
5. Do you feel as if you are a black-and-white only person, or a person who sees many gray areas? That is to say, do you have strong opinions on everything, or do you recognize the need to compromise? I can compromise

Wow..I can't believe this is the last day of the year already. This year went fast. First it started out with depression for whatever reason..then I got my apartment and slowly adjusted and got much happier. This summer was filled with fun adventures. I got to meet [livejournal.com profile] rdyfrde and meet HammerFall and see them in concert. I tried going off Paxil but had horrible withdrawal symptoms and my mind was negative and judgmental on everything. I feel better now that I'm back on it. Aaand much more. I hope next year is good too

our recent cold weather set a record )

Wow..tomorrow's a new year and a new decade! This one has some great and not so great memories but I did some pretty sweet things. I hope 2010 will be a great year. 2009 went fast haha

See you in the future ;) (I'm telling that to everyone haha)

Today's trivia: Kung fu means "hard work"
glacier_kitty: (Default)
Here are some highs and lows of 2009 (of course there's more but I'd spend all day trying to think haha):

Highs:
Going to Portage Glacier and being freezing and soaked but having so much fun
Getting a new cat
Going to San Diego and hanging out with Dana
Work
Seeing sweet Northern Lights
Being in front of Surprise Glacier and seeing it calve
Going to Valdez, walking on the dock and seeing it on a clear day
Being really happy on New Year's
Hiking on Ester Dome
Going to Chena Hot Springs with Dana
Going across the suspension rope bridge on the Gulkana Glacier hike
Realizing my fascination with rivers

Lows
Having anxiety attacks
Being depressed
Feeling really weak and blah on my hike to Gulkana Glacier (I had started on anti-depressants) and not being able to walk on it
Extreme repeating thoughts in my head
Going back to Texas
Not seeing huge glaciers while flying by the Alaska/Canada coast
Not feeling the same since coming back from Texas

Today's trivia: According to linguists, the letter p in "ptarmigan" has no etymological justification whatsoever
glacier_kitty: (chaaaarlieee)
Yesterday I was playing Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? and one of the questions I got was "rock and soil debris left behind when the glacier melts is called what?" I was like "OMG NO WAY!!!" haha. And now people on the Bzoink forums are like "OMG GLACIERS YAY I WANNA GO TO ALASKA NOW!" cause of me :D

Wowww it's already the last day of 2008..this year went fast! And think what I did..I moved all the way to Alaska haha. I hated the idea at first but now I'm like "YAY ALASKA" haha. WE HAVE GLACIERS HECK YEAH

and here's more surveys..i made the first one! )

Today's stupidest quote: Our New Year's Resolution number 1--no one leaves hungary! (sign at a restaurant)

Kathryn saw Narnia before meeeeee...*cries and runs into a wall* She has seen an epic battle movie before me! Waaaaah *is being overdramatic*

I had weeeeeird dreams last night...I was laying in my bed and these skeleton thingys were buried in ice thought to be dead and then they looked at me...I got one out and it made the noise of when someone IMs you on Yahoo...weird, no?

that looong song survey again... )

Today's the last day of 2004 already. This year went really fast. It won't be hard to stay up till 12 cause I do that every night. I would say 2004 was a good year. I traveled a lot, got a LJ, got married, and got the best friend ever. Yay!

Next year I hope to go to Italy, to a HammerFall concert, meet Amanda in person and get better at fencing.

My dad wants to see The Aviator today. It does look good. I think Cate Blanchett (Galadriel) is in it. Miranda Otto (Eowyn) was in Flight of the Phoenix.
